Railster’s musical journey began at the turn of the millennium, fueled by a passion for crafting instrumental compositions on his vintage computer. Initially drawn to the allure of alternative Hip-Hop, he found inspiration in the alternative sounds of labels like Anticon and DefJux.
In 2009, Railster unveiled his debut album, “Patchwork Anthems”, through the Italian label ReddArmy. This collaborative effort garnered acclaim from critics, marking the inception of his creative odyssey.
Over the years, Railster’s sonic explorations led him to remix projects for a diverse array of artists, including Swede:Art, Ghemon Gilmar, and Portformat. His adept fusion of hip-hop sensibilities with electronic and ambient elements caught the attention of labels such as EMI, Unlimited Struggle, Error Broadcast and Tokyo Dawn Records.
Venturing beyond the realm of music production, Railster ventured into podcasting and curated music mixes, establishing connections with different media outlets worldwide and performing live in many venues and events. Notably, his brainchild, the BEAT.IT collective emerged as a virtual platform for Italian beatmakers to exchange ideas and showcase their talents creating two compilations and three singles released at the beginning of 2020.
In 2013, Railster’s sonic evolution culminated in the release of “Fields”, a captivating exploration of dark, atmospheric soundscapes that solidified his distinctive musical identity. This release, distributed by Crackling Claps, showcased his mastery of genre-blurring experimentation.
Continuing to push boundaries, Railster embarked on a sonic odyssey with his 2015 EP, “Your First”, under LuckyBeard Records. This project epitomized his penchant for melding vintage hardware aesthetics with modern software capabilities, resulting in a unique auditory experience.
Throughout his career, Railster has remained dedicated to pushing artistic boundaries, evidenced by his collaborations with authors such as Doro Gjat and Egreen.
The last record is called “Another Day” and had great reviews and exposure in different media as a Nike advertisement with Sara Gama.
More recently, the experimentation followed the creation of digital art creating various NFTs, in the Web3 world, collaborating with Adriano Attus, art director of Il Sole 24 Ore, for the Neometrie collection, and other digital artists such as MattiaC.
As he sets his sights on future endeavours, including a forthcoming music collection slated for release in 2024, Railster’s entire discography remains accessible on Bandcamp and various streaming platforms, ensuring that his groundbreaking soundscapes resonate with audiences worldwide.
